Uruguay XXI, Uruguay´s Chamber of Information Technology and private companies Código del Sur, De Larrobla and Zonamerica were present at the event during October in Orlando, Florida.

The event took place from the 16th to the 20th of October in Orlando, Florida. Accompanying the representatives of Uruguay XXI were Leonardo Loureiro, Vice President and Treasurer of Uruguay’s Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI); Marcelo Bertorelli, Marketing Manager of De Larrobla; Fernando Panizza, Chief Operating Officer of De Larrobla; Nicolas Amarelle, General Manager of Código del Sur; Alfredo Levy, Chief Operating Officer of Código del Sur; Nicolas Jakubowsky, Project Manager of Código del Sur; Elisa Amarelle, Public Relations Manager of Código del Sur; Leandro Bonilla, Business Development Manager of Zonamerica and Carlos Garcia, IT Business Development Manager of Zonamerica.

Apart from the event, important meetings also took place in Miami on the 14th, 20th and 21st of October, when the delegation visited the headquarters of multinational companies that are considering opening branches in Latin America’s Southern Cone.

Uruguay attended the Gartner Symposium ITxpo 2011 to encourage foreign companies that provide IT services to set up an office in Uruguay or partner with Uruguayan companies that are looking forward to expanding their number of customers and operations overseas, creating more well paid and qualified positions. Uruguay has significant competitive advantages in this sector.

This international forum was attended by over 7,000 executives representing more than 2,000 companies worldwide. Representatives from investment agencies of several countries were also present at the event.
